The Royal Naval Docks at Plymouth are one of the UK’s most strongly guarded military establishments, and justifiably so – this location is where nuclear submarines and warships are refurbished. For this reason, every effort is made to reduce the number of civilian visitors on the site, including contractors.
Temporary toilet blocks at one of the dockyard’s ship refurbishment areas could not be directly connected to main sewers. Using conventional effluent tanks, this location would have required a minimum of a daily empty therefore increasing visitor and contractor traffic on site.
A CABINPUMP Ultra system was installed with a high-volume above ground tank which could be located away from the toilets in a more accessible location.
This installation was able to achieve the following;
- Reduce the emptying frequency by 80%.
- Improves site safety & security.
- Reduce CO2 emissions.
